Artist: SGTA STUDIO1 Location: Kampong Gelam, Singapore Photo Date: January 31, 2023
Before visiting Kampong Gelam, Batik Girl was one of the murals I wanted to see in person. The colours stood out immediately: vibrant flowers, flowing green hair, and intricate batik-inspired patterns. Even in a neighbourhood known for its street art, this piece was impossible to pass without stopping for a closer look.
Created by SGTA STUDIO1 for the former La Boca on North Bridge Road, Batik Girl brings bold colour and intricate pattern to the streets of Kampong Gelam. We photographed the mural while exploring the neighbourhood in January 2023.
We're reaching out to SGTA STUDIO1 directly as part of our work to connect with and properly credit the artists behind the pieces we've photographed.
