Nineties

Artist: Bozko
Location: Sofia, Bulgaria
Photo Date: January 13, 2024

I first spotted this mural through a tangle of winter branches in Sofia. Even from a distance, the blue hair and oversized figure stood out against the yellow wall behind it. The closer I looked, the more the building itself seemed to become part of the artwork.

Created by Bulgarian artist Bozko for Urban Creatures in 2015, Nineties looks back on the artist's teenage years. It was painted near some of the places he spent time growing up, giving the work a personal connection to both the neighbourhood and the decade behind its name.

If you're the artist, or know how to reach them, we'd love to connect. Our goal is to properly credit and celebrate the artists behind the work we discover.
