Mask by Quam

Artist: Jovan Ćurčić (Quam)
Location: Novi Sad, Serbia
Photo Date: December 14, 2023

I discovered this mural on the façade of the Novi Sad Theatre, where its vibrant colours and flowing lines feel almost alive. At first glance, the fox mask catches your attention. The longer you look, the more the piece becomes a story about transformation—the moment someone steps into a new role and becomes something more than they were before.

Created by Jovan Ćurčić (Quam) in 2020, the mural was designed specifically for the theatre. Inspired by fables and performance, it portrays a young actress in the act of transformation as she dons a fox mask. The flowing hair and ribbon-like strands symbolize movement, storytelling, and the lasting traces artists leave behind.

If you're the artist, or know how to reach them, we'd love to connect. Our goal is to properly credit and celebrate the artists behind the work we discover.
